The Home Price Comparison Index provides an index number that helps you quickly approximate how much your home might cost in any one of nearly 300 markets across North America.

For example, if you live in Tucson, AZ in a home with a market value of $263,400, approximately how much would it cost to replace it with a similar home in Alexandria, VA?

Multiply the market value of your current home by the index number of the destination city where you plan to move, and then divide that number by the index number of the market where your current home is located:

$263,400 x 190/62 = $807,193.55

To replace a $263,400 home in Tucson with a comparably-sized property in Alexandria, expect to pay approximately $807,193.
