Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Opens 19th Metroplex Office in McKinney View All

Irving, TX (February 15, 2009) – “It was just a matter of time,” says Sue Meyer, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth (CBDFW), announcing a recent new addition to CBDFW’s 18 metroplex locations.

Long-time residential pro Denise Ackerman made the joint announcement of CBDFW’s 19th site – 5913 Virginia Parkway in McKinney.  Located about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas and five miles west of Interstate 75, the office at the corner of Ridge Road and Virginia Parkway is in the heart of the 3,000-plus-acre master-planned Stonebridge Ranch.

“We’re opening our newest branch just west of the Stonebridge entrance adjacent to its highly publicized Adriatica Village,” says Ms. Meyer.  “McKinney is one of North Texas’ most popular residential cities, and we’ve established a dynamic team to help buyers and sellers here.”

“With 2,800 square feet, two staff members and an impressive number of associates – both new to the business and long-time industry veterans who want to office in McKinney – we expect immediate success,” says Ms. Ackerman.

“Denise and her family have lived in McKinney for eight years, and she will be a superb manager for this new branch,” says Ms. Meyer.  “She managed the Plano Preston Park office four of the seven years she has been with CBDFW.  Denise began her career in 1984 as the Preston Center office manager for Lou Smith Realtors, one of the fastest-growing brokerages in the metroplex during the ‘70s and ‘80s.  Later she worked in the title and mortgage industries before joining Coldwell Banker in 2004.”

“We anticipate great success with the new site, in part because of the vast area that we will service –  Allen, Lucas, Fairview, Melissa, Ana, including parts of Collin, Grayson and Hunt Counties,” notes Ms. Ackerman.

She adds:  “Just north of our office (straight up Custer Road) are Celina and Prosper – two small communities rapidly earning a place among the fastest growing in the nation. That’s a title Plano and Frisco recently held, and it’s entirely predictable the same kind of major growth and economic development will occur as land acquisition and development continue.

“McKinney is listed as the 14th best city in the nation in which to live,” says Ms. Ackerman.  “Based on a Forbes magazine survey, for several years it was the fastest growing city in the U.S.”

She believes rapid residential and commercial expansion northward from Dallas and Plano fueled the city’s fast growth.  McKinney has always had a remarkably savvy economic development program, and the expansive acres of new-home developments are a testament to that,” she says.

Downtown McKinney, known as a weekend getaway spot, is a designated Main Street Area with a picturesque town square, restaurants, antique shops for families strolling around the plaza morning, especially on weekends. Several of the streets feature Victorian-style homes lovingly cared for during the past century.
